If you are in the neighbourhood, you are invited to drop off your food donation at Hogan’s until Friday October 10, 2014.

  • Hogan Chevrolet, Buick GMC is organizing another innovative community event at their location – 5000 Sheppard Avenue East  (between McCowan and Markham Roads).

Congratulations to Hogan for this innovative way to support local sports in our area.

  • The popular Scarborough Town Jazz Festival is returning to our area again this year.

Part of the Festival takes place on the Burrows Hall Park Centre Stage – on Sheppard Avenue East, at Progress (just east of Markham Road) – by the Chinese Cultural Centre.

This Festival features a broad range of entertaining musical performers – something for everyone – and it is all free.

Festival performances will take place from 1:00 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. – on Friday August 8, Saturday August 9 and Sunday August 10, 2014.  For more information, go to www.scarboroughtownjazzfestival.com.

  • Dentistry from the Heart – a program that has spread around the world will take place in our neighbourhood this year, for the first time.

This program is designed to provide a day of free dental services for anyone who needs it.

On Sunday July 20/14, free dental services will be provided by Sheppard Village Dental, Suite 208, 4651 Sheppard Avenue East on the southeast corner of McCowan & Sheppard.

People needing dental services can simply go to the Sheppard Village Dental office on July 20 and will be treated on a ‘first come’ basis, throughout that day.

Sheppard Village Dental guarantees that a minimum of 50 people will receive free dental treatment at their office, on July 20

Twelve dentists, dental hygienists and staff – all volunteers – will provide the services that day.

With a growing number of Canadians lacking dental insurance, Dr. Malkit Brach and his associates believe this will be an effective way to address some potential health problems, while also giving back to our community.

For further information, contact Kal Brach: brach@rogers.com or 416-293-5155.

  • People of all ages can and do have crooked teeth - and related issues of great concern.

One breakthrough in dentistry is a system of customized, clear, invisible retainers that can solve crooked teeth issues in about a year – without braces.  Worn all day, they can be removed for eating, brushing and flossing.  Invisalign retainers can straighten crooked teeth, ensure a better bite alignment and meet both dental and cosmetic treatment goals.
